7 Wonders in 7 Days – design competition

Manchester Is Ace is supporting 7 Wonders in 7 Days – not only because it’s a good cause, but because it’s a fantastic idea and I can’t wait to see how it’s done. And also because it’s something I’d love to do – imagine going on one trip and seeing all these sights. Maybe I should try to visit them all in the next 10 years – that would be more realistic for me. The modern seven wonders of the world were announced on 07/07/07 and so far I can sadly say I’ve only visited one of them, which is the Colosseum in Rome.

So this challenge will see Chi-chi Ekweozor attempt to visit all the seven modern wonders of the world in just seven days. With a seven-themed trip, Chi-chi, who runs Real Fresh TV in Manchester, aims to raise £777,000 for seven charities, including a foundation for education dedicated to the memory of her grandmother, who sadly passed away in Nigeria at the beginning of this year.

She will be setting off on 09/09/09 (she clearly likes matching numbers!) so hasn’t got much time to get prepared for this massive task. But she seems like a determined lady so she will clearly achieve this, and it’s a fantastic story to tell.

Ch-chi has just launched a t-shirt competition for a graphic designer to create the official 7 Wonders in 7 Days project, which will also involve a £50 prize and a 50% split of the sales profits of the t-shirt (not the charity money!). This is a great opportunity for someone to get noticed because there will be a lot of attention on this daring, and some might say, rather insane challenge.

So if you are a designer, visit the 7 Wonders in 7 Days blog for more details.
